Weds 3rd August. Both of us out tonight.

Back to normal tonight with both of us cycling tonight, after a long day.

Hospital clinic appointment today. Doc was pleased about my weight loss and I was in and out in 20 mins. Directly after, as we had an hour before the next customer, Raffie took me dress shopping as we are off to a wedding on Saturday and she hasn’t got a thing to wear. Actually, she hasn’t. Now Raffie has found a dress, which took all of 15 mins to find, try on and buy, she has a grand total of 1 dress now. Its rather nice and suits her, also its a size smaller than she thought it would be so is very happy.

Also today, we went to Argos for a bike rack, got a fiver discount as they have a special offer on at the moment, and got a £5 gift card against any purchase this month. At the end of the day – we groomed dogs round all of this – Raffie went to Slimming world and reckoned that she had lost maybe 2lbs. Turned out it was 4 1/2lbs and she won ‘slimmer of the week’ and the prize was a big bag of food. All free to eat at will food so what with new dress and losing all that weight, she had a celebratory coffee and then got all manic as she rarely touches the stuff.

Cycling was a must after all of this, Raffie buzzing away so we thought that we ought to go.

Tonight we cycled the “red house ride” which is a little over 5 miles of undulating road. Down to the village, turn left at the pub along the road, over the bridge, left at the T junction towards Kiltarlity and round a couple of nasty bends and eventually there is a red house with a passing place just after. We turned here and headed back. Raffie was shattered and was struggling. I felt great and could have gone on some more. Even tired Raff pulled away from me on the hill back home, but she wanted to up her average mph today so pushed harder. Between us we managed an average of 12mph today and Raffie was made up. I got all the way up the hill in 3rd big gear and somewhere in the middle little gear. I am sure that there is a technical term for it but I am unsure of the exact term, but I know what I mean.

Raffie was muttering something about Dolly Parton being absent today, she hadn’t got her iPod with her today. She says its easier to cycle with the cheesePod.

I was supposed to be having an early night but it didn’t happen. Off to bed now though.

About RosieRosie

RosieRosie is a woman of a 'certain age' - whatever the hell that is supposed to mean, known. I feel about 26. I have no idea what I look like as some older woman keeps getting in the way when I look in the mirror. Married, to someone who is a bit indifferent towards me. I have a proper wanderlust and have finally moved - using the housing exchange system from - where I started in Inverness, down to Cornwall. It's taken since September 2011, when I left Inverness until March 2016 to get to Cornwall. That's not too shoddy with a swap here and a swap there, saving up again for each move. I am going to move again though. I can't handle the hills. My knees are 10 years too old for around here. Not ruling out Cornwall in the future but, for now, my riding is suffering. I love my bikes, I love my dogs and I love guitars. They all keep my busy.
