Thursday 9th August

We are off work today again. The way of a brand new business is we work when the phone rings and market the business, put up posters etc when the phone is not ringing. On the upside it gives us cycling time.

Today, the 9th, would have been my Aunt Midge’s birthday. She died 1 years or so ago but I do miss her. She was a right tomboy in her youth and did a spot of street racing on a TriTon. Her husband, my Uncle died 20 years ago of MS. I loved them both dearly and miss them a lot. Aunt Midge made the most amazing cherry cake too. I stopped riding motor bikes at the end of ’99 and bought a car. Much better for transporting bikes in.

After a longish ride yesterday, today’s plan was a quick ride to Wymondham and back and that is pretty much what we did. We popped into Howards Cycles to check the price of a good service for Kenn’s new bike as I reckon that it needs one, then we headed home again.

The weather was really hot and sticky and I was shattered and really feeling the pain of a slow ride, Kenn was not a lot better, especially after his bike decided that changing on to the big ring was for other bikes. We stopped and fixed this by the library and its been fine since. Looking forward to tomorrow off cycling. Full of dogs to groom though 🙂 We are not ruling out a small ride tomorrow but right now our next ride seems a long way off as we swelter at home deciding if its too hot in here to move.

About RosieRosie

RosieRosie is a woman of a 'certain age' - whatever the hell that is supposed to mean, known. I feel about 26. I have no idea what I look like as some older woman keeps getting in the way when I look in the mirror. Separated from husband but dating a nice chap at the moment. I have a proper wanderlust and have finally moved - using the housing exchange system from - where I started in Inverness, down to Cornwall and back up to the Flatlands and Big Sky Country. It's taken since September 2011, when I left Inverness until May 2017 to get to somewhere that I really like. That's not too shoddy with a swap here and a swap there, saving up again for each move. Not ruling out going home to Norfolk if necessary. Time will tell. For now my mates are just a 90 minute or so, drive down the road. I love my bikes, I love my dog and I love guitars. They all keep my busy.
